Ashleyrose Burton
Well she was delivered by c-section on a Friday. They had to do the spinal twice!
But she is here, healthy, and happy! We were discharged on Sunday and I went back into the hospital that evening with pain underneath my ribs. I went back into surgery Monday and had my gallbladder removed. I was discharged again on Tuesday and came home to recover. Mike had his surgery (vasectomy) that Friday so we were a pair! But we are all recovered now and getting into our regular routine. Ashleyrose is such a cute little baby and so sweet. She loves to be held and will only sleep in my arms at night. I am holding on tight to these early days and cherishing every moment! You would have thought it was a catastrophe when her umbilical cord fell off! I just want her to stay this little forever cause it goes by so fast! All the other children just adore her and are very protective of her. She is such a joy!
9 years have passed since Mike and I met
and way back then we never would bet
that one day we'd have a family of 6
and life would be full of laughter and kicks!
At first there was Hanna whom we gave all our love,
our family was small but it fit like a glove!
Along came our Reid to keep us on our toes,
but we could never replace the all the love that he shows!
Then Ella Marie entered our world and brought us her smile
and all three children made our life worthwhile!
Well one day we said "Hey we can have more!"
"What's one more baby for us to adore?"
So baby number 4 is well on the way
and we anxiously wait for arrival day!
I guess you should know it's girl number 3!
And we are as happy as we could be!
Her name will be Ashleyrose and she is the last one...
As for the Burtons,
WE ARE DONE!
-But there's always adoption!-
Geneva Burton
Well after the 12 week mark I feel more comfortable adding to the site that I'm pregnant again! Number 4 here we go... And that's a wrap for the Burtons! If more are in our future we will receive them from God through adoption! It is funny to think about how we got to this point! Hanna stays busy with events, Reid is as active as ever, and Ella Marie is getting bigger and more active herself. Keeping up with everyone is fun but constant. Mike and I talked about it and a few days later I found myself feeling sad and second guessing our decision. THEN...on the way to Hanna's choir practice I started praying that God fill me with that "finished" feeling again and that I have the peace I had just days before. We arrive at practice and Reid runs all around the church, climbing over the pews and jumping off the altar, tries to play the piano, and tears through all the side rooms. I am running after him with Ella Marie under my arm and saying "No" and "Shhh" but he keeps going with a smile on his face! After trying to watch Hanna sing beautifully, with Ella Mari in arm, my somewhat protruding belly, and my laps around the church, I think to myself "There's another one on the way!" So we are either finished or going to take a long break and focus on raising these blessings we have. We are both very excited about the new baby and both Mike and I keep feeling as if we are leaving someone out already. Even though this child is not here yet, we seem to making room with mental preparations!
Update: 8/16/05 I had an ultrasound and everything is looking good. At 35 weeks she weighs 5 pounds and 9 ounces. We got some great shots of her face and she seems to have cubby cheeks like Reid! I am extremely tired right now. This pregnancy, as all my pregnancies, has been hard on everyone -which is why we are finished. We are all anxiously awaiting Dday which is 2 1/2 weeks away! Then we can all look forward to life as we know and enjoy it! Right now we are all praying for a safe delivery for mom and baby and an easy recovery.
